Our Mission
To empower through creativity. To inspire a love of learning and a passion for the arts. To instill confidence in the expression of self. To offer children the opportunity to grow and discover themselves by trying new activities and gaining experience in old favorites.
To provide a program that is widely varied in creative and challenging activities that engage the development of the whole child in a warm, nurturing, non-competitive environment, under the care and supervision of experienced, educated, caring and knowledgeable people. To offer parents a unique, enriching and affordable alternative to traditional day care or uninspired day camps. To build a community that goes far beyond our camp, where families can come together to learn, teach, connect, explore, inspire, play and grow. To nurture the whole child in all of us.
Our Philosophy
It is our belief that when a child operates from a place of true confidence and self esteem, there is no limit to the joy and pride they can feel, or to the happiness, richness of life and success they can achieve. They can do anything, for they have been empowered by the boundless resource within. We believe that we owe this empowerment to our children and we must nurture this sense of self and agency in the world by nurturing each child’s unique essence, each child’s soul. At the heart and essence of all of our souls is our natural creativity. When you nurture that creativity in a child, you are nurturing in them the belief that they not only have the right to express themselves in the world, but that the world is more beautiful and better for it.
We believe that creativity is our gift, our privilege, our duty and our right. Not just to make art, but to create our lives. To create beautiful moments and to create love in the world. It all begins with a sense of “I can do this, I am good. I am valuable. I am capable and I have the right.”
At JCC Milken Super Duper Arts Camp, we strive to foster the belief in self, nurture the child’s creativity, encourage safe and guided experimentation, facilitate meaningful relationships and infuse into our days a sense of fun, laughter, playfulness and joy.
