This summer, we’ll being going on two overnight retreats to Camp JCA Shalom in Malibu. (Attendance on the Retreats is optional).

Campers entering 3rd grade & up and JCITs who join us for one or both of the Overnight Retreats, will enjoy 3 days and 2 nights of amazing outdoor fun and adventure.

Overnight Retreats are designed to provide an introduction to the overnight camp experience. Retreat activities include all the classic sleep away camp favorites and more.

Session 2 Retreat: July 13th - 15th

Camp JCA Shalom

Nestled in the beautiful, green, rolling hills of Malibu, the incredible Camp JCA Shalom campus will host our annual Overnight Retreats and provides the perfect setting for one Super Duper excursion into nature.

Just a 45 minute drive from L.A., Camp JCA's campus feels like a magical world away to any camper, with its natural beauty and old camp charm that many of us remember from childhood. With over 40 Acres of beautiful grass fields, trees, hiking trails, gardens and even a creek running right through campus, it's facilities also include camper bunks, swimming pool, garden center, basketball court, play structures, art facilities, amphitheater, a brand new dining hall, a health center plus an Adventure Center and a Pioneer Living Center.

Our Overnight Retreat will include all the classic favorites of the sleep-away camp experience, such as...

By night, we’ll be roasting marshmallows, singing songs, and telling stories around the campfire. Then it’s off to sleep in the JCA accommodations (or maybe even under the stars!). In the morning, we'll start our day with a hearty, healthy breakfast in the mess hall as we dive into a whole new day of fun and adventure!

What It’s All About

Living in Los Angeles, we may not get the opportunity to spend some time outdoors in nature as often as we like. It’s easy to get caught up in city life and forget to make some time for ourselves and our kids to just get outside, breathe some fresh air and experience the joys of being in a natural environment. The Camp JCA Shalom campus in Malibu, and the experience we’ll have there are an oasis of goodness for the soul that every child needs.

Our overnight retreats are also the perfect introduction into the sleep away camp experience for those campers who crave the experience but who may be not quite ready for a full week or more away from home.

And, not to mention, its an exhilarating, empowering, and fun time your child will not soon forget!

The Overnight Retreat is optional and open to campers entering 3rd grade & up and JCITs.

Supervision will be provided by Super Duper Arts Camp counselors and directors, as well as facilitated by Camp JCA Shalom's seasoned and experienced staff (for activities such as Adventure Center, Pioneer Center, Swimming, etc)

All food (3 meals per day, plus snacks) is provided in the cost of attending and will be prepared by the Camp JCA Shalom culinary staff in their brand new dining hall and cafeteria.

Transportation will be provided. Campers will meet at WJCC at normal drop-off times. We will leave The JCC on Tuesday at about 10am and return on Thursday before regular pick up time

Camp JCA Shalom has a Health Center, staffed by a registered nurse who is onsite at all times and a physician is on call at all times.

Tuition for the Overnight Retreat includes (and requires) attendance at Super Duper Arts Camp for the entire week. Campers attending the Overnight Retreat do not need to be enrolled for the entirety of the session (although it is strongly encouraged), however they MUST BE ENROLLED FOR THE ENTIRE WEEK OF THE RETREAT.

The Fee for the Overnight Retreat is $149 and includes food, transportation to and from The JCC, accommodation and all activities. This fee is in addition to the regular SDAC enrollment fee for the session or for the week.

You can enroll in the Retreat online at the time of registering for your SDAC sessions.

If you are have already enrolled for SDAC session(s) and which to add enrollment for one or both of the Retreats, simply contact us and let us know. We will add it to your current registration and balance due.
